Constructs tight-tolerance, high-precision mold components as indicated by mold design specifications and blueprints using multiple machines designed for metalworking fabrication.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

- Studies blueprints, sketches, and drawings to manufacture parts to print specifications.
- Ensures fabricated parts are secured before machining, using clamps, vices, etc.
- Before machining, measure and mark metal stock to define the proper placement of cuts.
- Checks work pieces to ensure they are properly lubricated and/or cooled during machining.
- Develops specifications from general descriptions and draws sketches of a part or product to be fabricated, when necessary.
- Troubleshoots molds to find nonconformance and oversees repairs, as needed.
- Disassembles a mold frame, performs maintenance, and reassembles without blueprints, if needed.
- Fabricates new structural products, using a variety of metalworking machines.
- Fits and manufactures parts for mold assembly.
- Calculates dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or calipers.

- High school diploma or equivalency strongly preferred
- Mold Maker Apprenticeship in progress or completed
- Prior experience or education in injection molding or plastics industry (strongly desired)
- Possesses basic English comprehension (verbal and written)
- Communicates effectively with teammates
- Works well independently (self-motivated), as well as in a team environment
- Maintains a positive attitude and strong individual work ethic
- Possesses a strong attention to detail
- Is capable of multi-tasking
- Consistently meets deadlines
